Ambulance Station

Client: EEAST Trust and Marden Homes Limited

The operational requirements of an ambulance station can easily overwhelm the wider design considerations. Within these constraints we have produced a simple form of two single-storey arms stretching into landscape. This low-profile approach respects the views from beyond the site and contains the vehicle activity. The building is clad in a silver grey metal. Where the building approaches the entrance from the major road access the cladding changes to core ten (steel which naturally forms a protective finish) to signpost the building and its function.
