Keynes College Lecture Theatre and Science Block

Client: University of Kent

This building has three elements; a large campus lecture theatre, a new psychology teaching block and a sweeping entrance atrium securing the new work to the existing building.

The lecture theatre, essentially a large windowless mass, has been clad in green oak. This will age in time to provide a weathered silver natural finish.

The psychology block is clad in silver aluminium panels echoing the lecture theatre.

The atrium, with its fully glazed façade, creates a new entrance and gallery space supporting both the new facilities and the original college. This project was delivered with guile and enthusiasm within a tight financial environment.
