Professional Experience:
On graduating Robert was employed by Brian Frost, a tutor at the AA, to work on a competition-winning scheme at Milton Keynes. Some four years later in 1976 the opportunity arose, not only to design but also to construct his own house, which was featured widely within the Architectural Press and remains the family home to this day.
In 1982 private practice was commenced with a series of commissions for expensive one-off houses. With steady growth over 29 years, management and team building skills have been honed. Despite the pressure of practice, Robert has maintained an active interest in architectural education over this time, both in the UK and overseas, and has acted as an External Examiner for RIBA Part III.
Practice Role:
As the Practice has expanded, the need to maintain a research and design led culture has become more important and challenging. Robert takes the lead in this, guiding the initial project strategy and maintaining the office ethos with regular project reviews.
Outside the office Robert is instrumental in presenting the Practice to a wider audience.

Peter John Heather
Education:

Professional Experience:
On graduating with distinction, Peter joined Essex County Council and was given extensive opportunities to demonstrate his skills leading the design team on several Educational projects and collaborating with others on development proposals for County Hall.
In 1986 Peter joined Robert's Practice working initially on Education and Care related schemes. He became an Associate in 1989 and in the year 2000, a full Partner.
Practice Role:
Peter is based in our East Hanningfield office where he has overall responsibility for managing our urban design proposals linked with the design of large-scale housing settlements and the creation of new communities. Alongside Robert, he is jointly responsible for monitoring the office systems with regard to quality, design, performance, programme and the delivery of key client and Practice objectives.

Trudi Quirk
Education:

Professional Experience:
Trudi worked for ten years within an architectural practice in Essex and was instrumental in the delivery of large urban design and housing projects. This was followed by a spell as the chief designer in a company providing bespoke conservatories, before joining the Practice in 2002. Trudi was tasked with establishing an interior design group.
Practice Role:
Trudi has used her twin skills of interior design and architectural technology to build a substantial presence in the delivery of high quality hotel and leisure projects both in the UK and North America.
A highly motivated and an extremely reliable member of the team, in 2020 Trudi's hard work was recognised and was made a Partner of the Practice.
